June 11, or 7-11, is Free Slurpee Day at 7-11! Kt, DH and I went to partake in the goodness known as Slurpee...
But when we got there, we were greeted by this sign...
"Free Slurpees are gone.
Sorry."

The scoop...
We're homeless.
Dh and I moved out of our southerly home. We are now living in my parents' basement. For two weeks. Yay! :) My sister and nieces are here too - talk about a full, fun house! From here, we go to dh's parents for two weeks... then we're off on the BIG adventure!
In the beginning of August, we head down under for five months of an Australian Adventure!! We're heading to OZ for a study abroad program through dh's school. He'll be studying and I'll be... um... we're not sure yet. We're hoping to travel around Australia and see heaps of DH's extended family.
I'm not sure how much internet access we'll have during the next month or two, but I'll try to keep you updated as best I can :)

Good Times at Lake Michigan
One of my absolute favorite things about growing up was going to Lake Michigan. I still love it today, and try to get out to "the Lake" as much as possible.

We got rained out in the afternoon, but went back after the storms had passed.
Big Red at night...
It reminds me of my favorite childhood book,
The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Grey Bridge

The final week of playground musings...
Happy 4th of July~
Yes, I've been holding out on you. Life is settling down a bit (relatively). DH and I have reunited (yay!!!) and we're spending time with my family in Michigan after I spent some time with some of the best friends a girl could have - love you! More updates from the past two weeks to come... I promise.
Without further adieu, here are some funny quotes from my last week at the preschool.
Student: We drove the party car.
Me: The party car?
Student: Yes, our Lexus is the party car.
Me: Oh.
Me: No sitting in teacher chairs. (aka the kids aren't allowed to sit in our chairs)
Student: I'm not sitting. I'm being a statue.
Student: More cowbell!
(note - she's 4. Would you let your 4 year old watch SNL?)
Student singing: I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it.
Student praying before snack: Dear God, thank you for the planet. Thank you for donkeys, thank you for lamps, thank you for the flowers and the trees. Thank you for carpet. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Fourth of July Parade
The town where I grew up is known for its great 4th of July celebrations. 2 years ago, 11 days before we got married, I went to this same parade with my mom and sister. This year, we went again - in a 2 car caravan! What made it better was that we brought along a four year old and a two year old, as well as Marge's Donuts!! (It brought back the good old days when Amie and I used to skip weight training to go get them. LOL!) MMMMMMmmmmmm!
Me with the Stanley Cup :)
Go Red Wings!!
(well, a fake one held by the Buffalo Wild Wings mascot)
In all, it was a great parade and everyone had a lot of fun.
