Muir Woods

Dh loves to hike. I find it a really good way to explore wherever we are... and we happened to be in Muir Woods! We went with M. M is A's wife, and A happens to be one of dh's best friends.

(Funny story, after graduating from The Academy, A and DH got to write "dream sheets" of the top 5-10 where they would like to be stationed, and then the bottom two places - where they would NOT like to be stationed. DH and A both put "Alaska" and "Michigan" as their bottom two. And just as it worked out, DH and A are both now happily married to girls from where else? Western Michigan!)

Anyway, M & A live out in California and played our tour guides - for the week that I was there, and the 5 weeks dh was there without me. Thanks a ton, guys!

Point Bonita and Golden Gate Park

DH and I decided to explore on our first whole day there together. We went hiking to Point Bonita Lighthouse.

This suspension bridge made me kind of nervous - the Farallon (aka Great White Shark heaven) is offshore. I don't think I'd like to go swimming with sharks.

Dh by the bridge of the USS San Francisco - it has a really cool story.
I'd like to read more about it.

Last Day

I had my last day at the preschool today, and although it had a few more bumps along the way in the last few days than I would have liked, it's done. I'm done. Now I can concentrate on packing. Pictures and fun quotes to come :)

My new favorite music

Holy cow. How could I have missed Raiatea Helm?

We were on our way back from a hula performance in the country, and my kumu put in her "Sweet and Lovely" cd. I fell in love immediately!

Her voice is so smooth and beautiful. It's the kind of thing that you just stop what you're doing and are mesmerized by it.









Also, I heard this song on the radio just before we left Hawai'i, and it makes me laugh! Go to Green Light Go's myspace page, and choose the song "Grumpy" on the top right. Poor dh. Last night I was definitely grumpy!
