Goals for 2011 - revisited in March
- Find a church we like.
We have visited a church in our neighborhood a few times and like it. It has a family service at a time that’s good for Lu’au’s naps. The people are friendly. It’s not perfect, but neither are we. Hopefully we can get plugged in soon.
- Visit Europe (hopefully we can make this happen!).
Just bought tickets today to go to London! I’d like to work on an itinerary, and to figure out if we should take Lu’au or not (I've never been away from her for more than 4 hours!).
- Make at least one new recipe per month and document it. (Make at least two recipes from the book Erinn gave me (Ready for Dessert).)
I’ve been making new things (potatoes, tilapia, cookies, chicken marinade…). I need to get better at documenting.
- Continue taking one picture a day and posting it on a blog.
So far, so good! It’s been really fun.
- Attend at least one photography workshop or class.
I have one workshop scheduled for May!
Finish Lu'au's quilt.
Done! I love how it turned out. Now to start two more – Isa’s and a new niece.
Visit Ashley and David in Atlanta.
We went in February and had a blast! We love hanging out with them!
- Memorize the entire chant - Nā 'Ōiwi 'Ōlino
Well, I have most of the first verse down. Only four more to go.
- Eat at Restaurant Eve (probably not the 9-course pre fixe, lunch or restaurant week is more like it)
I’m looking for an opportunity to go sometime soon. Preferably without Lu’au. We’ll see.
- Craft more, internet/facebook less.
I’m bad on this one. I’m on the internet WAY more than I need to be. How do I cut back on this? Any suggestions? I may be addicted. This is bad.
- Drink more liquids. Eat more fruit and vegetables, preferably raw.
There’s definite room for improvement again here.
- New- Exercise 4 times a week.
I really need to start exercising regularly again. Any ideas on how to motivate myself?

good for you! it's inspiring to read about other's goals...i think i am stuck at this point. doing well on some and not much at all on others.
I struggle so much with computer time, Julie. I can't hardly walk into my family room where the computer is w/o checking fb, email, google reader etc. I am really trying to cut back or to do it when the kids aren't around. I don't have any words of wisdom for you though except that you're not a lone! As for exercising, that's another tough one. I've tried to have a little competition with myself w/ little rewards--exercise for 2 weeks, go have a latte. For a month, buy a new book. etc. It worked to get me started. But then about 6 months later I stopped again. It is so hard. Again, you are not alone!! :)
Number 13 -- NEW--hang out with Marian more often. That could go along with the cooking, the exercising, the not being on the internet as much, the drinking of more liquids (preferably coffee)...you get my picture. And whenever you want to make that visit to REstaurant Eve, sans baby, I offer my baby sitting services. Alex would be so happy...
Love your blog =) Great to see another Coastie wife out there blogging! Will definitely be a new follower =)
For number 10... I have started digital scrapbooking which I love! It combines the computer and crafting, plus preserves memories and gives me something to do with all the pictures... which I'm sure you have of that sweet little girl.
